Start building with Nano Banana 2 Lite and Gemini Omni Flash

Google announced Nano Banana 2 Lite and broader developer availability for Gemini Omni Flash on June 30, 2026. The announcement is aimed at builders who need image generation at higher throughput and video generation or conversational editing through Google’s model platforms.

Nano Banana 2 Lite

Google describes Nano Banana 2 Lite (Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite Image) as a speed- and cost-focused image model for rapid drafting and high-volume workflows. The company reports a four-second text-to-image result and a cost of $0.034 per 1K-resolution image under its stated setup. Those are publisher-reported figures; actual latency and price can vary with platform, request, region, and later pricing changes.

Google positions Nano Banana 2 Lite for speed, Nano Banana 2 as a general-purpose balance of quality and latency, and Nano Banana Pro for more demanding professional work. It also recommends Lite as an upgrade path from the original Nano Banana model. Developers should check the current model documentation before migrating production workflows.

Gemini Omni Flash availability

The announcement also brought Gemini Omni Flash to Google AI Studio, the Gemini API, and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, with consumer availability in the Gemini app and Google Flow. Google describes it as supporting video generation and conversational editing, but the announcement does not establish that it will outperform alternatives for every workflow.
